How can you eat an elephant?

How will you eat an elephant? 🐘

One bite at a time. 😉

Of course, not a single elephant was harmed in this exercise. No animals were harmed, even though all experiments were conducted on living beings.

When I talk to young people about their ideas and aspirations, I use a process I learned through my education.

  1. Dream It. When you see the ultimate goal in front of you, believe that it is achievable, and believe in yourself—that’s the first step to success.
  2. Map It. Pen and paper endure everything. Even if you don’t publish your ambitious goals, it will help you see the path ahead.
  3. Book It. When you set dates, goals become plans. When you have plans, the brain ensures you find a way. A mentor helps make your plans more realistic.
  4. Chunk It. Do you have friends, partners, colleagues, or bosses who will help you? Now is the time to involve them in your plan. You don’t have to do everything alone.
  5. Do It. It may not succeed the first time. You can go back to the beginning. In any case, you will learn something that will benefit you next time.

Most importantly, neither success nor failure are anything other than signs on the road.

You are still you.

Good luck! Reach out if you need help or advice. (Inspired by James Wedmore)
